RESURRECTED HEARTBREAK

Some men they live a fairytale life,
Married once to their forever wife.
Some women live their own fairytale plan,
Married once to their own forever man.

But some of us we never get that chance,
To have our own forever sweet romance.
Because our lovers cheat and mess around,
With everybody that we know in town.

It would’ve been so much easier on me,
If you’d have died and left this world to me.
Causing me just a one-time ache,
And just one time for my heart to break.

But like a Lazarus pulled out from the grave,
You’re presence in my life now every day,
Constantly reminds me that I’m just not through,
Getting past a Resurrected Heartbreak like you.

A Resurrected Heartbreak that kills,
A Resurrected Heartbreak that steals.
Every little peaceful moment from me,
Got me hating who I’ve come to be.
A Resurrected Heartbreak that won’t quit,
And give my grief a little break for a bit.
A Resurrected Heartbreak that just won’t give,
me back my joy and let me live.

But you’re here still in my life every day,
I hear you laugh and I see your face.
And I just don’t know how I’m gonna get through,
Having a Resurrected Heartbreak like you.

A Resurrected Heartbreak that kills,
A Resurrected Heartbreak that steals.
Every little peaceful moment from me,
Got me hating who I’ve come to be.

A Resurrected Heartbreak that won’t quit,
And give my grief a little break for a bit.
A Resurrected Heartbreak that won’t give,
me back my joy and just let me live.

RIGHT AND LEFT

At this point, I thought that I was way too old,
To make a brand new start and break the mold.
To make a big change in my plans and schemes,
And even change my heart and dreams.

But then you swiped right on my goofy pic,
Sent me a message with one simple click.
And it was right then that I started to see.
All the right that’s still left in me.

All the right that’s left in me,
Is everything you want from me.
And it will be so easy to do,
Because I’ve gotten to be so crazy for you.

And you can see me as I used to be,
A man with grit and a heart that’s free.
And the only thing you want from me,
Is all the right that’s left in me.

Our first date you called a “meet-n-greet”,
Those hours flew by because you’re so sweet.
Since then we’ve had a couple hundred dates or two,
And I spend all my time thinking of you.

All I want to do is hold you hand,
Tell you I love you so you’ll understand.
That when you decided to swipe right on me,
I gave you all that’s right that’s left in me.

Since you decided to swipe right on me,
I give you all that’s right that’s left in me.

CONJUGATION (Present Tense Verb-Past Tense Life)

My daddy passed away and a friend asked me his name,
And I said, “He goes by “Binus'”.
I totaled my old car, yet I told them at the bar, that
“It’s an El Dorado.”

And now that we are through,
You don’t love me, I don’t love you,
Our lives together are over.
When someone asks me about you,
If we have plans, what we will do,
I say, “It’s coming up clovers.”

What is it with my denying mind?
Talking now ’bout things already left behind.
Using present tense verbs for past tense dealings.
And present tense verbs for past tense feelings.
Holding on and never letting go,
Communication skills at Level Zero.
Talking now ’bout things long left behind.
Present tense verbs and past tense lives.

POLICE UBER

It was the Police Uber out on patrol,
Looking for a hapless citizen to roll.
It was the Police Uber sneaking round in the hood,
But Police Uber’s always up to no good!

I was at my local watering hole,
Shooting pool and playing nice.
When I met a guy by the name of ‘Chris’,
Who was too shitfaced to roll the dice.

So I put the Uber app on his phone,
And wished him well and sent him along.
Thought I was fine and doing well,
Pointed my Jeep for home but wound up in hell.

Made it 3 miles without any troubles,
Drove right past the state police Headquarters.
But then a greedy cop working after hours,
Lit me up with his dazzling lights of Blue Power.

It was the Police Uber out on patrol.
Looking for a hapless citizen to roll.
It was the Police Uber sneaking round in the hood,
And Police Uber’s always up to no good!

SCARECROW JUNKIE

You stumble through life like a Scarecrow Junkie.
Never using that big brain of yours.
Just wasted water inside your skull,

RUSTED FREE (From Your Chain)

You vowed to shelter and protect me. Keep my heart anchored with your love’s chain.
You bade, “Drop anchor in my waters.”
“Safe in my harbor, free from pain.”
After 30 years of marriage, and all I get’s this shitty text.
“Im leaving, so don’t try to find me. I won’t be home when you get back.”

My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, Still I cannot envision a change.
My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, Signs of rust now appear on its chain.

Blood flushed my face, my chest, my neck. Burned me up, turned me to stone.
Thought of suicide and whiskey. Thought I’d die before next morn.
Salty tears fell down my cheeks, salty tears caked on my face.
And then I realized once again, you’d broke your vows, you’re a disgrace.

My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, my friends tell me it’s time for a change.
My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, signs of rust now appear on its chain.

I found out later that you’d been cheatin’.
A guy from work. Somebody new.
The phone bill showed your non-stop texting, with this Mr. You-Know-Who.
He had new jokes. And ugly sexting. Illicit talk and meet-ups, too.
But he’s long gone and you can’t make it. Want me back ’cause you’re so blue.

My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, looks like maybe it’s time for a change.
My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, Signs of rust now appear on its chain.

Since ’85, I’ve paid your moorage. Priced for yachts, not my row boat.
Your harbor’s shallow, the chop is heaving. It makes me feel that I’ll throw up.
Think I’ll jump ship, get in my life raft.
Let the tides bring me to life.
Free from your manipulations, living good without your strife.

My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, and I feel that it’s time for a change.
My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long,
That it’s rusting free of your chain.

My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, and Lord knows that it’s time for a change.
My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long,
That I’ve finally rusted free from your chain.

My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long, and I know that it’s time for a change.
My anchor’s hung in salty waters so long,
That I’ve finally rusted free from your chain.
That I’ve finally rusted free from your chain…
